In Pakistan, a suicide bomb near Peshawar has killed seven people and injured 21 at a gathering, mourning a cabinet minister's son, killed in a suspected Taliban attack. The groups were paying respects to the son of Provincial Information, Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain, when the bomber struck on foot, said police. Three policemen and four civilians died. The minister was not among the mourners, who had gathered near his home. His son, Rashid Hussain, 28, was killed on Saturday by suspected Taliban. The suicide bomber was dropped off today by a man on a motorcycle near the home of the outspoken anti-Taliban minister in the town of Pabbi. The attacker was standing near a mosque where people had gathered to remember Mr. Hussain's son when he detonated his explosives after police reportedly challenged him. The Lok Jansakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan today said that his party is concerned over the price rise, but it is not going to join hands with the BJP-led alliance on the issue. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr. Paswan said, the common man is being affected by food inflation. The opposition is likely to bring an adjournment motion on price rise issue in Parliament tomorrow.
