In Iraq, at least seven people were killed and 17 others wounded in attacks on security forces across the country on Thursday. The deadliest attack took place at a police checkpoint in western Mosul, where a suicide bomber blew himself up and killed four police officers. Four policeman were wounded in that attack. <br/><br/>In another incident, two suicide bombers detonated their explosives near the main gate of an army base north of Mosul. One soldier was killed and five others were wounded. <br/><br/>In the capital, Baghdad, blasts from two roadside bombs killed two police officers and wounded eight others. One attacker was stopped in Tal Afar, west of Mosul. Security forces shot him as he tried to detonate his car bomb near a public market.
