P V Sindhu and Arundhati Pantawane entered the quarter finals of the women's singles. R.M.V.Gurusaidutt defeated his compatiort K.K.Srikanth. B.Sai Praneeth , Ajay Jayaram and Anand Pawar also won their respective matches. Shuttle queen Saina Nehwal's was shocked by Yui Hashimoto of Japan 21-13, 12-21, 20-22 in the pre-quarters.
