In Haryana, seven persons including three doctors and two nurses have been arrested on the charge of violating the PNDT Act, in Yamunanagar Saturday night. Stating this on Sunday at Chandigarh, a spokesman of the Health Department said that a raid was conducted at the residence of Dr. Kailash Sharma who runs an ultrasound centre in Jagadhari. An unregistered ultrasound machine was found at his residence which was being used to determine the sex of foetus, thus violating the PNDT Act. The police also arrested the two women who had come to get the sex of their foetus determined. The two lady doctors and two nurses have been granted bail whereas Doctor Shailash Sharma has been sent to jail.
