Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli has said that there were 7.99 crore Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana PMUY Phase-I beneficiaries across the country as on 1st January 2023. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, Mr Teli said, to cover the remaining poor households, PMUY phase-2 (Ujjwala 2.0) was launched in August 2021 with a target to release one crore additional PMUY connections. He said, it was achieved in January last year. The Minister said, subsequently, the Government decided to release 60 lakh more LPG connections under Ujjwala 2.0 and as on 1st January 2023, the target of 1.60 crore Ujjwala 2.0 connections has already been achieved.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched on 1st May 2016 to release deposit free LPG connections in the name of adult woman member of poor households across the country.</span><br />
