The Reserve Bank of India, RBI has revealed that 7.62 lakh pieces of counterfeit currency notes have been detected in 2016-17 as against 6.32 lakh in 2015-16. In its annual report, the RBI has said that detection of counterfeit notes was 20.4 per cent higher than the previous year.
