A 7.2 magnitude earthquake has hit near the Fiji Islands, causing a tsunami warning for parts of the pacific near the nation in the south Pacific Ocean. <br/><br/>The US Geological Survey said, the quake, with a depth of 10 kms, hit a part of the ocean about 227 kilometers southwest of Nadi. It said, a tsunami warning has been issued for parts of the Pacific located within 300 kilometers of the quake. However, it said, no such warning was issued for the Hawaiian Islands. There were no reports of any damage or casualty, so far.<br/><br/>In 2004, a quake and tsunami had killed a total of 2 lakh 30,000 people in a dozen countries, most of them in Aceh, Indonesia.<br/>
