In Sikkim, the 6th Namchi festival began at the South Sikkim district headquarters today. It was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Mr.Pawan Chamling. AIR Gangtok correspondent reports that the three-day long event is part of state government's endeavour to develop tourism in other towns of the state besides the capital Gangtok. The festival is aimed at showcasing the rich ethnic culture and tradition of Sikkim.
