69.63 lakh plants planted by NHAI till February 2023

<span style="color: #222222;">The government has said the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has planted more than 344 lakh plants on National Highways from year 2016-17 onward by way of Annual Plantation Action Plans.<br />''   <br />''In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said as per Annual Plantation Action Plan 2022-23, a target of 75.51 lakh plants was approved by NHAI out of which 69.63 lakh plants have been planted till last month.<br />''<br />''He said to monitor the survival and growth of plants, NHAI launched a Mobile App "Harit Path" in August 2020.<br />''     <br />''The Minister said 237 lakh plants have been geo-tagged till last month. He said as a second line of monitoring, the plantations are being monitored through monthly drone videography of highways construction development progress including plantations.</span><br />
