67th Dhammachakra Pravartan Day being celebrated in Nagpur

In Nagpur, on the occasion of 67th Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Day various events are being organised.<br />”<br />”Akashvani correspondent reports that the chief architect of the Indian constitution, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, embraced Buddhism with millions of his followers on the day of Vijaydashmi at Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur at October 1956.&nbsp;<br />”<br />”Since then, this day is celebrated as Dhammachakra Pravartan Day&nbsp; Monk&nbsp; Dhammaratna Thero of Sri Lanka will be the chief guest of main programme of 67th Dhammachakra Pravartan Day to be held at DeekshBhoomi – Central memorial of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in Nagpur this evening.<br />”<br />”The chairman of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Committee&nbsp; Bhadanta Arya Nagarjun Surai Sasai will be present along with&nbsp; Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale on this occasion.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br />”<br />”Meanwhile,&nbsp; followers from across the state and country are gathered at Diksha Bhoomi to pay respect at the central memorial of Dr. Ambedkar since yesterday itself.<br />”<br />”Nagpur Municipal Corporation, District administration and police have ensured proper arrangements for these followers Many stalls of books, idols are set up in the premises.&nbsp;<br />”<br />”The central dome of Deekshabhoomi is decked up with lights and flags.<br />”<br />”Along with Deekshabhoomi the&nbsp; &nbsp;Dragon Palace at Kamptee which is a part of the Buddhist circuit in Nagpur, is also attractively illuminated.&nbsp;<br />”<br />”A multimedia photo-exhibition based on 'life of Dr. Ambedkar' is also organised at the museum of Dr. Amebdkar's Belongings based in Shantiwan Chicholi of Nagpur district by the field office of Central Bureau of Communication till 25th October.<br />
