J&K Minister for Social Welfare, Ms. Sakina Itoo today said that an amount of 6.27 crore rupees is being provided to 66,103 old age persons as pension during the current financial year. They get 325/- per month under Centrally Sponsored National Social Assistance Programme in Kashmir division. The Minister said that the Social Welfare Department is also providing pre-matric scholarship to various categories of students like OBC. Under this scheme, 66840 students have been covered and efforts are underway to cover all approved cases under this category by the end of current financial year.
