66 radio channels sold in 2nd round of FM Phase III auctions

Altogether 66 radio channels have been provisionally sold in 48 towns in the second round of the FM Phase III auctions. <br/><br/>They fetched over 200 crore rupees. However, no takers have been found for 200 FM channels. Information and Broadcasting Ministry today declared the results of the auctions. <br/><br/>An FM Radio channel in Hyderabad notched the highest 23.4 crore rupees. The bid was made by Sun Group company Kal Radio. The slot for FM Radio in Dehradun notched the second highest bid of nearly 15.61 crore rupees. It was made by South Asia FM Limited, which is also linked to the Sun Group. The second batch of FM Phase-III consisted of 266 channels in 92 cities.
