66 percent students pass secondary school exam in Kashmir

In Kashmir Valley nearly sixty-six percent of the students, who appeared in Secondary school examination in November last year have passed the examination and result shows the initiative of Central and State Government of opening schools in the Valley amid unrest in the summer has saved precious one year of more than thirty thousand students. It may be recalled the agitation spearheaded by hardline faction of Hurriyat conference from June to September in the Valley hampered the functioning of educational institutions. It was on the initiative of the Center that State Government took the decision of keeping schools open amid all hurdles and curfews and conducted the examinations as per the schedule. The results also show the cooperation of students and general public in making the Government initiative a success.
