Minister of State for Heavy Industries Krishan Pal Gurjar said that total of six thousand 586 &nbsp;public EV charging stations are operational in the country. <br />''<br />''In a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, the Minister said, as per data available with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, three thousand 199 private and &nbsp;three thousand 387 government public EV charging stations are operational in the country. <br />''<br />''The Minister further added that under the second phase of the Fame-India scheme, one thousand crore rupees has been allocated for the charging infrastructure. The Ministry has already sanctioned two thousand 877 electric vehicle charging stations in 68 cities across the country. He said that another one thousand 576 charging stations across nine expressways and 16 Highways under the second phase of the Fame-India scheme have also been granted.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Minister said that the Ministry of power had already issued clarification on charging infrastructure for Electric Vehicles concerning the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003.
