The 64th annual session of the United Nations General Assembly has begun in New York. Opening the session, the current President of the Assembly, Ali Treki of Libya called for reforming the World Body enabling it to implement its resolutions. He said presently only the resolutions of the fifteen-member UN Security Council are legally binding whereas the UN General Assembly which represents the entire world is unable to implement or enforce its resolutions.
