64% polling reported for 7 LS seats in Delhi

About 64 percent polling has been reported for seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi today. It may go up as voting continued beyond 6 PM in some areas across the city.

Polling which began on a slow note picked up after the first two hours and it is progressing steadily. 150 candidates including 58 independents are in the fray. Nearly 50,000 security personnel, apart from 161 flying squads of police and video surveillance teams have been deployed as part of arrangements to ensure fair and peaceful polls.

AIR correspondent says, there have been complaints of inconvenience caused to voters with Election Commission's directive not allowing mobile phones inside polling booths. No provision has been made either for keeping cell phones in safe custody outside the booths.
