63% polling recorded in Jammu- Poonch parliamentary constituency till 5 PM

Polling in Jammu Poonch parliamentary constituency ended at 6 this evening peacefully. An average of 63 percent voter turnout has been recorded in Jammu- Poonch parliamentary constituency till 5 PM. According to official sources, 65.27 percent of polling has been recorded in Jammu district and 59.58 percent in Rajouri while Poonch recorded 57 percent and Samba district 70.21 percent.

Polling in Jammu-Poonch parliamentary constituency began today under clear hot weather. Voters in good number were seen in long queues for polling at most of the polling booths in Jammu city and different areas in Samba, Poonch and Rajouri districts. Over 2200 polling stations including 80 critical polling booths had been set up in 20 Assembly segments of four districts of Rajouri, Poonch, Samba and Jammu.

Over 17 lakh 60 thousand registered voters including those from twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch are registered electorate with Samba and Jammu districts having over 11 lakh 50 thousand votes.
