623 candidates in fray to contest Bihar assembly polls

The Election Commission has instructed the candidates of different political parties to restrict ten cars in their convoys during campaigning of the assembly elections in Bihar. This will be in addition to those used by security personnel. This instruction will be valid till the model code of conduct in force.623 candidates are in the fray after withdrawal of nomination papers for the second phase of elections. Nomination process for the third phase has been completed today. Scruitiny will be done tomorrow. Candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till Thursday.Meanwhile, Congress party has charged chief minister Nitish Kumar with misleading people by claiming that the centre is denying funds to the state for development projects. While addressing election meeting at Purnea Party campaigner Raj Babbar asserted that only congress could alone bring social and political transformation and put the country on the path of progress and prosperity in Bihar.In Madhubani RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yaday said that Nitish Kumar led NDA came to power because his party and RamVilash led LJP clashed in the last election. This time we are together and sure to form the government. Then there will be real development.On the other hand while addressing election meetings senior leader of Janata Dal ( United) and Chief Minister Chief Minister Nitish kumar claimed that caste- based arithmetic will fail in this election .He firmly stated that people too want candidates who vouch development.The leaders of three left parties CPI,CPM and CPI( ML) made a joint appeal to the people of the state to vote for left candidates in view of the fact that the congress, RJD and NDA had failed to deliver the goods. The newly floated left front is contesting the polls on the plank of land reforms.Panthers Party Chief Bhim Singh announced that his party would contest 50 seats in elections.
