62 killed in Iraq blast

At least 62 people have been killed and more than one hundred others injured in a series of large explosions in the centre of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad today. The first blast targeted a police patrol in the Doura district of the capital. At least four others occurred near official buildings within minutes.<br/><br/>Reports said that one blast took place near the Iraqi health ministry. Another is believed to have taken place on the same street near the oil ministry and the police academy. A third blast has reportedly killed several people in the Sunni area of Doura. All checkpoints in the city were closed following today's attacks.<br/>
