The 61st All India Police Hockey Championship began in Jammu today. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah declared open the Championship . The championship would last till December 14 with participation of twenty four Police Hockey teams from various states, Union Territories (UTs) and Central Police Organizations (CPOs).Speaking on the occasion, J&K Chief Minister expressed the hope that Indian Sports Ministry and Indian Olympic Association will take urgent steps to resolve the issue with International OlympicAssociation so that Indian sportsmen could take part in the International events under Indian banner. Omar said that players take pride to march at international events under their National Flag. He appreciated J&K Police for holding All India Police Hockey Championship in the State.
