6,000 security personnel have died in militancy-related incidents in J&K: DGP R R Swain

<span style="color: #222222;">Director General of J&K Police R R Swain has said that about 6,000 security personnel from various forces of the country have died in the line of duty in militancy-related incidents, of which over 1,600 are from the J&K Police.<br />''<br />''He said this shows the J&K Police's commitment to protecting the sovereignty and integrity of the country. Mr Swain said this at the closing ceremony of 12th martyrs' memorial cricket tournament in Kathua yesterday. The DGP also paid floral tributes to the fallen heroes of J&K Police by laying wreaths at the martyrs' gallery.<br />''<br />''Later talking to the media, Mr Swain said that J&K police is going to frame a special policy to root out the Drug menace from J&K. While vowing strict action against narcotics dealers, the DGP said that  majority of drugs are supplied from Pakistan adding there is direct connection between Narcotics, terrorism and its financial sustenance.</span><br />
