Around 6,000 Gram Nyayalayas will be set up across the country. The Gram Nyayalayas Act, which came into force from 2nd of October this year, enables the state governments to establish one or more Gram Nyayalayas for every Panchayat to cater to specified Civil and Criminal cases in the rural areas. Officials in the Law and Justice Ministry said of the total, 193 Gram Nyayalayas are scheduled to be set up in 2009-10 across the country. Our Correspondent reports that the Centre has also decided to provide financial assistance to the states for establishing Gram Nyayalayas and for operating the same during the first three years. <br/> <br/>
