60 killed in bomb blast in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, 60 people have been killed and 120 injured in a car bombing at a hospital in the Logar province today. Most of the casualties were civilians including women and children. The head of Logar's provincial council, Abdul Wali Wakeel confirmed this. Local official had contacted foreign forces to ask for help in evacuating the wounded. The official spokesman said the attack was a suicide car bombing. Meanwhile, Taliban has denied that it was behind the attack. Today's attack came as Afghan president Hamid Karzai told a counter-terrorism summit in Tehran that militancy was on the rise in both his country and the region.
