In Uttar Pradesh, six women drowned in Mau district today when the boat in which they were crossing a river, capsized. Police said the incident occurred in Ranbirpur village when the boat carrying 14 persons capsized in the Tamsa river. While others swam to safety, six women drowned. The bodies of five of them were fished out from the river, while the search is on to trace the remaining one.
