6 Turkish soldiers in Kurdish rebel rocket attack on naval base

In Turkey, six soldiers have been killed and seven others injured in a rocket attack by the militants of the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party in Hatay province. The provincial governor, Mehmet Celalettin Lekesiz today said the militants launched the attack on Sunday evening on a military vehicle carrying troops to their sentry posts in a naval base in the Hatay town rocket launchers and long-range weapons. He said six troops were killed and seven others were wounded in the attack. The governor said three of the injured who are in life-threatening condition, were rushed to the GATA military academy hospital.
