In Sikkim, six prisoners escaped from the State Prison at Rongyek near Gangtok this afternoon. They all were serving life-terms.The Jail officials said the absconders took the advantage of a lax security during the prisoners’ normal tea-break. They sneaked into the playground, made ladders out of the wood of the football post and after cutting the barbed wires with pliers, escaped. The Jail official told that a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding prisoners. While focus of search remains on the forests around Bhusuk and Assam Lingze areas, all the police stations, outposts and border-check posts too have been alerted.
