The government has de-allocated six coal blocks given to firms following delay in production. According to the Coal Ministry, the blocks which are de-allocated include the mines alloted to Hindalco Industries, Tata Power, Century Textiles and Industries, J K Cement and others.The deallocations follow an inter-ministerial group's (IMG) recommendation in this regard. The IMG was set up under the chairmanship of Additional Secretary, Coal to review the progress of development of captive coal blocks alloted to private companies. The Ministry on Monday had deallocated 10 coal blocks allocated to firms, including Adani Power, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd and Uttam Galva Steels.
