6 left parties to contest Bihar polls jointly

In Bihar, 6 left parties including CPI, CPM and CPI(ML) have decided today to contest the upcoming assembly elections in the state jointly. This decision was taken in a joint convention of the parties at Patna. <br/><br/>On this occasion, former CPI General Secretary A.B. Bardhan said this was the first concerted effort by the Left parties to expose what he called the opportunist alliance of RJD-JD(U)-Congress as well as NDA which he accused of misleading people by diverting their attention from real issues. <br/><br/>CPM General Secretary Sitaram yechury alleged that Nitish Kumar-led RJD, JD( U) and Congress are trying their best to returning power by hook and crook. Mr. Yechury said the alliance of 6 parties will give alternative people not for Bihar but for the country also.
