In Punjab, at least six persons were electrocuted during laying of power cables at village Shahpurjajan under Dera Baba Nanak Police Station area of Gurdaspur district on Friday.Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur said all the six died on the spot. The accident took place when a private contractor was laying 11 KV cables at the village with the help of some farmers. The cables became live with electricity, as the victims were pulling the wires from the main transformer. Investigation is on and no case has been registered so far.
