In Bihar, six persons died after they reportedly consumed "spurious liquor" at Nawalpur Mohalla in Siwan. District Magistrate said that he had ordered the district officials to raid the liquor shops and collect the samples of the country liquor sold. A local ward councilor claimed that more than 10 people died after consuming spurious liquor at the mohalla during the past three days. The Police has sealed the liquor shops and arrested eight persons for allegedly selling pouches of country liquor.
