In West Bengal, at least six persons were killed in a clash between ruling CPIM supporters and opposition Trinamool Congress activists at Netai Village in Lalgarh at West Midnapore district today. The State Home Secretary, Mr. G.D.Gautam told newsmen in Kolkata this afternoon that 15 people were injured during the clash. He said that there were no involvement of Maoists in the incident and it was a purely political violence. Mr. Gautam said that the administration has no information that the victims were Trinamool Congress supporters. The Trinamool Congress Chief and Railway Minister, Ms. Mamta Banerjee has strongly criticised the incident. She alleged in Kolkata that CPIM supporters fired bullets from their camp to her party supporters.
