6 constituencies in WB go to polls tomorrow; Prez son, Dasmunshi bro in fray

In West Bengal six constituencies are going to the polls tomorrow in the sixth phase. Over 83 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise to seal the fate of 78 candidates.

Among the prominent candidates are President Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit, Abu Hashem Khan Chowdhury and Mausam Noor of Congress, popular band singer Soumitra Ray of TMC and former union Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi's brother, who is also fighting on TMC ticket. In Maldaha Dakshin. 17 candidates are in the fray, one of the highest in the state.

While five of the six seats – Raiganj, Maldaha Uttar, Maldaha Dakshin, Jangipur and Murshidabad were won by the Congress in 2009 general elections, which it fought in alliance with the TMC, the Balurghat seat was won by the RSP.
