A powerful 6.2-magnitute earthquake jolted China's Hutubi County in northwest Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region today. There were no report of any casualties or damage, but the quake shook buildings and forced evacuation of students from schools. <br/><br/>China Earthquake Networks Centre said, the quake, with a depth of 6 kms, struck Changji city and was strongly felt in Urumqi, the regional capital, among others.<br/><br/>Officials are checking the damage of two townships hit by the quake. Fire fighters and quake officials are on their way to the county.
