6.1 magnitude quake rocks Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter Scale jolted eastern parts of Indonesia today. According to Indonesian Meteorology and Geophysics Agency, the quake struck at 1: 46 p.m. local time and had its epicenter 75 kms. off North Sulawesi at a depth of 35 kms. under sea bed. There are no immediate reports or any damage or casualties. Thailand has been rocked by political instability since former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was overthrown in a coup in 2006.
