An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck off the Chilean coast last evening, about 88 kilometers south-southwest of the port city of Valparaiso. US seismologists said the quake hit at around 8.26 p.m. (local time) and its epicenter was at a depth of 23 kilometre. No immediate damage or casualties have been reported, and no Tsunami warning has been issued. The quake was strong enough to be felt in the capital Santiago.
