In Turkey, at least three people have been killed and more than 70 injured in a 6.0 magnitude earthquake that hit the northwest region late last night. The epicenter of the quake was near the town of Simav in Kutahya province. Reports say two people were killed in Simav, including one person who jumped from a window in panic. A third victim, an elderly woman, suffered a heart attack during the quake in the city of Bursa. The tremor was felt in neighboring provinces and as far north as Istanbul. A series of aftershocks were also reported.
