6.0 magnitude earthquake hits Philippines

An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted sea area off the Philippines on Monday. <br/><br/>The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter of the quake hit at around 1016 GMT, with the depth of 33 kilometres under the sea surface, was monitored at 6.925 degrees north latitude and 123.995 degrees east longitude. <br/><br/>It was about 45 kilometres southwest of the Mindanao Island of the Philippines. So far there have been no reports of casualties or damage to property.<br/>
