5th phase of polls: Brisk polling reported from 121 LS constituencies

Brisk polling has been reported in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections today. 121 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 12 States are covered in today's voting. Polling was heavy in the 4 constituencies in West Bengal with 62 percent voting recorded in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Coochbeharans Alipurduar till 1 PM. Voting was similar and also heavy in the inner Manipur seat with 62 percent polling till 2 PM.

According to information available, over 50 percent of voters cast their votes in the 20 seats in Rajasthan by 4.30 PM. Ganganagar reported 60 percent polling. In the 7 constituencies in Bihar, 40 percent polling was reported till 2 PM. 40 percent polling was recorded in 10 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh till 2.30 PM.

The parliamentary constituencies that went to the poll include 28 seats in Karnataka, 20 in Rajasthan, 19 in Maharashtra, 11 each in Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, 10 in Madhya Pradesh, 7 in Bihar, 6 in Jharkhand, 4 in West Bengal, 3 in Chhattisgarh and one each in Jammu and Kashmir and Manipur. 77 assembly segments of Odisha Assembly also went to the polls.
