Spelling out the challenges being faced by the Country due to global warming and climate change, Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Science and Technology Mr. Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi exhorted scientists to prepare themselves for overcoming this emerging phenomena. Speaking after inaugurating the 5th JK Science Congress, organized and sponsored by the University of Jammu in collaboration with the J&K State Council for Science and Technology, Government of India, in the Jammu university campus, the Minister stressed for greater interaction of scientists with their peers at International and National levels and sought their greater involvement, particularly from Jammu and Kashmir State, in solving regional and national problem The Minister highlighted the importance of advancement of science and technology in alleviating the problems of people living in far flung areas of the State. He mentioned about the potential of Jammu and Kashmir with regard to wind, hydroelectric and solar energies and opined that all the stake holders should work with greater zeal in exploiting this for the benefit of mankind. He said that this will not only lead to further development of the State in general but will also provide jobs to the youth.<br/>
