The 5th Jaipur literature Festival concluded on Tuesday. 250 writers, translators and critics participated in this 5 day event. 26 sessions on literary and social issues were organized on the concluding day.

There was a range of subjects discussed in 5th Jaipur Literature Festival.
From little magazines to translation and military history to media every contemporary issue was discussed in the event.
Oprah Winfrey, Chetan Bhagat, James Shaprio,Gulzar and Javed Akhtar were the main participants who attracted literature lovers.
Besides this, Valmik Thapar, Mark Tully and Fatima Bhutto were the participants who addressed sessions on other than literary issues like conservation of tigers and role of media.
The Festival was concluded with a debate on interesting topic “Man has replaced God”.
Richard Dawkins, Mark Tully, Suhel Seth, Javed Akhtar and Swami Agnivesh expressed their different views on this subject.
Total 135 sessions and youth workshops were organized during literature festival.
50 thousand US $ DSC Prize for South Asian Literature was given to Srilankan writer Shehan Karunatilak for his book Chinaman.
