59 suicide cases by armed forces personnel have been reported till July this year. Last year 111 such cases were reported. This information was given by Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony to the Rajya Sabha in a written reply today. He said that government is taking regular measures to reduce suicides by soldiers. They include liberlized leave policy, supply of food and clothing and counciling on stress management. Apart from this, Mr. Antony said that married accommodations have been improved and yoga and pranayam classes have also been introduced.
