In Jammu & Kashmir, the 59 day annual Amarnath Yatra concluded today on Raksha Bandhan.<br/><br/>The Yatra passed off smoothly and peacefully which began on 2nd July. <br/><br/>Amarnath Shrine Board spokesperson told AIR that 3 lakh 52 thousand 771 pilgrims had darshan of Shiv Lingam at the Holy Cave situated at an altitude of around 12, 800 ft in South Kashmir Himalayas since the commencement of Shri Amarnathji Yatra on 2nd July.<br/><br/>Under the supervision of Mahant Deependra Giri, special puja was performed after Chhari Mubarak, the holy mace of Lord Shiva alongwith final batch of Yatries reached holy cave from Panjtarni.<br/><br/>Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board Governor N N Vohra also participated in the Puja.<br/><br/>Incharge Joint Control Room at Pahalgam Base Camp Amarjit Singh told AIR that 41 persons including 29 yatries, 06 civilians, 02 ITBP personnel, one Sadhu and two Sewadars, died during the 59 day yatra.<br/><br/>Last year, over 3.72 lakh yatries had darshan of Shiv Lingam. 46 persons died including 39 pilgrims, two Sadhus and five volunteers during 44 day Yatra last year.<br/><br/>
