In Jammu and Kashmir, 58th National School Games 2012 Tennis Ball Cricket, Boys and Girls under 19 were declared open in Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu today. As many as 13 states with 25 teams are participating in the National level sports event. The games which are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the aegis of School Games Federation of India were declared open by Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand. Addressing the gathering of players from different parts of the Country, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the State Government has taken various steps to promote sports at different levels in schools, colleges and Universities. Earlier, the Chief Guest unfurled the School Games Federation of India flag and released the balloons. A colourful programme depicting different dance forms of the Country was presented by the students.
