In the FIFA World Cup tonight, Italy will clash with Uruguay at Natal, Costa Rica will clash with England at Belo Horizonte, Ivory Coast will take on Greece at Fortaleza, and Japan will play Colombia at Cuiab?. Both the Group-D games, Italy-Uruguay and Costa Rica-England, will begin at 9:30 PM Indian Time, while the Group-C matches, Ivory Coast-Greece and Colombia-Japan, will kick off at 1:30 AM.
With England already out and Costa Rica through to the last-16, the Costa Rica-England game is nothing but a dead rubber. The game everyone is waiting for is the Uruguay-Italy clash, the winner of which will advance to the knock-out stage.
Uruguay would again like to ride on it's star studded forward line comprising Luiz Suarez and Edinson Cavani, which completely broke England in the last match, while the Italians will hope that their forward line, which has been a big let down in this World Cup so far, will fire this time around.
A draw would send Italy through on goal difference and a second-place finish would pair them with the winner of Group-C in the last-16. But, they would be wanting no less than a victory in this game and a finish at the top of Group-C.
Uruguay will come out with all guns blazing, as they very well know that anything less than 3 points would result in an exit from this tournament. The other important game will be Ivory Coast and Greece, as this will be the last chance for both sides to earn a spot in the Round of 16 – a feat neither of the two have ever achieved. Colombia has already made it to the knock-out stage from Group-C. For Ivory Coast, it's a win and they'll be in, while for Greece, they will have to win and hope that Japan loses against Colombia.
All India Radio will broadcast a live commentary, originated by BBC, in English on the Uruguay-Italy clash. It can be heard on FM Rainbow, Rajdhani and national channel from 9:30 PM onwards.
