The 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated in Nepal yesterday. Many programmes were organised in different parts of the country to mark the occasion.<br />'' <br />'' In Kathmandu, Akhand Path and Shabad Kirtan were organised at Gurudwara Guru Nanak Satsang, Lalitpur. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri and hundreds of devotees from Nepal, India and other countries attended the function. A blood donation camp and Guru Ka Langar was also organised on this occasion.<br />''<br />''Ambassador Puri awarded prizes to the winners of essay competition organised in various schools on teachings of Guru Nanak Dev. Akhand Path and Shabad Kirtan were also organised at the Guru Nanak Math in Kathmandu. Around 500 years ago Guru Nanak Dev Ji came to this place to meditate during his third Udasi.
