International Master Swapnil Dhopade from Indian Railways has clinched the title of the Glocal Square 53rd National Challengers Chess Championship which concluded in Nagpur on Thursday. Following the keen contest amongst the rated players for domination during the last several rounds in the Swiss-league tournament, he emerged as the clear winner with the highest 10 points at the end of the thirteenth and last round of the Swiss-league tournament to take the crown.FIDE Master K. Praneeth Surya from Teleangana secured the second position on the basis of tie-breaker after ten players equalled the progressive score of 9.5 points each while Grand Master Murali Karthikeyan from Tamil Nadu had to be content with the third position. Similarly, another two Grand Masters from the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board Neelotpal Das and M.R. Venkatesh took the fourth and fifth position respectively.
