Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said, reform of global institutions has to be an on-going process.Addressing the International Monetary Fund – IMF Conference in New Delhi Saturday morning, Mr. Modi said it must reflect changes in the global economy, as also the rising share of emerging economies.He said the policies need to be pursued to provide a stable macro economy, enhance growth and further inclusion.Prime Minister said many knowledgeable people have said that the twenty first century is and will be the Asian century and it is the ray of hope for global economic recovery.Mr. Modi said India has a special place in Asia and it has historically contributed to Asia in several ways.India has also shown that a large, diverse country can be managed in a way that can promote economic growth and maintain social stability.Prime Minister said corruption and interference in the decisions of banks and regulators are now things of the past.He said government has increased investment in the rural and agriculture sector and aims to double farmer incomes.Mr. Modi said India has never undervalued its exchange rate to boost trade and signaled that the country would never joined other countries in pushing their currencies lower.He said that government never tried to gain in trade at the expense of its partners and does not follow beggar thy neighbour macro economic policies.He said adds to the world and Asian demand by running current account deficits. He said India is therefore, good Asian and good economic citizen and a source of demand to the trading partners. India and the IMF are organizing a three-day conference on the theme of Advancing Asia Investing for the Future starting in New Delhi.
