The Planning Commission has called a meeting of its former Deputy Chief and members on 26th of this month to deliberate on the structure of the new body which will replace the 64-year-old institution. Sources said that, the Commission has invited former members and some experts to attend the meeting. On Independence Day Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that the Planning Commission would be soon replaced with a new institution to address the current economic challenges and strengthen the federal structure. He had said that it was set up to cater to the needs of earlier times and has participated in its own way in the development of the country.
