India's push for getting the shooting pair events reinstated in the Commonwealth Games has succeeded with the General Assembly of the Commonwealth Shooting Federation( CSF) agreeing to have them back for the next edition to be held in Australia. This was revealed in a statement by the National Rifles Association Advisor, Baljit Singh Sethi, who was elected unopposed as Vice President of the CSF at the General Assembly meeting in Glasgow yesterday. The pair events were removed from the programme of Commonwealth Games this year resulting in a great loss to India and brought down the number of medals in Commonwealth Games. The General Assembly also decided to bring back two pistol events — Centre Fire Pistol and Standard Pistol. With this, the number of pistol matches for men would be five instead of three.
