Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) and Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) will conduct a joint feasibility study for exporting 100 MW power to Bangladesh from gas-fired Palatana power plant in Tripura.PGCB officials told reporters today that the study will be carried out within the next three months, as per a decision taken during a meeting of the 7th Joint Steering Committee on Power held in Dhaka on the 3rd of this month. India currently exports 500 MW power through India-Bangladesh Grid Interconnectivity at Bahrampur-Bheramara since October, 2013.The 7th Joint Committee meeting also decided to establish a second grid interconnectivity between the two countries to take electricity from India's north-eastern states to western states, transiting Bangladesh, with a long-term capacity of 6000 MW.
